Collection: Dionaea

Dionaea muscipula as known as Venus Flytrap, (scientific name: Dionaea muscipula) is acarnivorous and semi-cold tolerant perennial plant in the family Droseraceae native to North America. It has jagged bivalve-like leaves at the end of its long petiole, and when insects touch it, it closes the leaves quickly and preys on them. In early summer, it extends its flower stems and produces five to ten flower buds on each flower stem. It blooms in midsummer.
