Heliconia
Heliconia is a unique genus in its family, Heliconiaceae, and is part of the Zingiberales order. It's related to bananas, gingers, birds of paradise, and cannas. The vibrant bracts, which come in red, yellow, orange, and green, shield the short-lived true flowers that are replaced by new ones over the course of several months.
